new york– state of mine

I recently moved to New York City to embark on a career in publishing.  I’ve been told that the only thing to do is to move to this city and make it happen…so that’s what I’m doing.  I spent the first six weeks of my life as a New Yorker studying book and magazine publishing as a post-graduate student at New York University’s Summer Publishing Institute.  I received my B.A. in English & French and minored in Media Studies.  I was born and raised in a small Southern town but I have always aspired to live in a big city.  I am incredibly close to my family so in a city that is overwhelmingly crowded with people, it is easy to feel remarkably alone.  But I’m giving myself a year to find a job, adventure, love and happiness in NYC (that sounds like a lot but dream big, right?) and I’ll be blogging about it all…
